‘The One Thing We Need is a Left Handed Monkey Wrench”

I’m not good at adapting. Not easily, at least. Going with the flow of things can be difficult if your heart isn’t into it. And I am first to admit that I don’t always take the path of least resistance, despite my intentions. This weekend was about leaving the cold rain and snow, and headingContinue reading “‘The One Thing We Need is a Left Handed Monkey Wrench””

Summer Blues, Summer Views

Sometimes your sadness can give you the emotional spark to create in whatever way you may express yourself. Through out most of my life, I have chosen writing to speak for my soul. I recently went through some of my very old notebooks, from high school, when I thought my life was really rough (ifContinue reading “Summer Blues, Summer Views”

Home is the Front Seat of my Car

In the last week and a half, I have driven over 3,000 miles in my little, white Chevy Trax. In the 2 years that I’ve owned it, I have driven close to 95,000 miles. There have been so many thoughts, ideas and lessons learned for me while I was sitting in the driver’s seat, takingContinue reading “Home is the Front Seat of my Car”

4th of July weekend at Rock Creek Lake

Another weekend of some awesome adventures! Kameron officially moved in on the 28th, and Zoe arrived for a weekend getaway on Saturday the 1st. It was her and Zack’s birthday, and her dad, Todd, drove them up here from the coast in their RV, Ellie May. We were lucky enough to have made a reservationContinue reading “4th of July weekend at Rock Creek Lake”

Hike to Pine Lake

On Sunday, Dad and I set off for a hike to a new destination: up the Pine Creek Trail to Pine Lake. An estimated 3 miles up to the lake, 6 miles round trip, this was a KICK-ASS hike! You have to start the trail by heading out of the Pine Creek Pack Station andContinue reading “Hike to Pine Lake”

Deep Creek

It’s been a family tradition since the 70’s to visit the wooded area off the Pacific Crest Trail near the Lake Arrowhead trailhead. My grandfather used to own 50 acres near Luna Mountain before everything was turned into National Forest. We’ve always visited the area, annually if possible, to fish, swim and enjoy the wildflowers.Continue reading “Deep Creek”

Great Things Never Come from Comfort Zones

Life as of late consists of photography, hiking and work. All of which I am exceedingly happy about!   I’ve been working at the Tribe for a month now and so far, the experience has been unique. I feel challenged a lot, because sometimes I really don’t know what I am doing or what isContinue reading “Great Things Never Come from Comfort Zones”

Trials and Triumphs of Travel

Leaving the sanctuary of my home always seems to be a brash wake up call about how uncomfortable I really get in large crowds of people & cars and rushed situations. Entering the quick paced chaos of urban society takes a lot out of me, though it makes me grateful for the home base weContinue reading “Trials and Triumphs of Travel”

Lockn’ Festival 2016

Our big event of the year is now done and over. Dad and I flew from LAX to D.C. then drove to Nelson County, Virginia to attend all 4 days of the Lockn’ Musical Festival. We’re big music people, and even more, we’re Deadheads. So Dad and I make it a point to regularly attendContinue reading “Lockn’ Festival 2016”

So thankful to Love you all

This weekend was phenomenal and tiring and filled with so much love. I’m grateful beyond words to have the experiences I did, the memories made and the confirmation that I’m heading in the right direction, assuredly. Going back to the Central Coast for the weekend was amazing and so much fun. Gooby, the Bonster andContinue reading “So thankful to Love you all”
