It’s been a family tradition since the 70’s to visit the wooded area off the Pacific Crest Trail near the Lake Arrowhead trailhead. My grandfather used to own 50 acres near Luna Mountain before everything was turned into National Forest. We’ve always visited the area, annually if possible, to fish, swim and enjoy the wildflowers.
This last weekend Dad and I drove down to San Bernardino and up to Arrowhead to the Splinter’s Cabin trailhead. We arrived at 1:30am and by 2, we started hiking toward Devil’s Hole.
I spent the day sunbathing while Dad went fishing and Violette enjoyed herself roaming. We shot off the .22 in the evening and had a small campfire. By the morning, the weather started turning to rain and we started heading back. It was a short trip filled with lots of relaxing and beautiful landscapes.
